Jason Garrett continues to staunchly back Ezekiel Elliott

Dak Prescott Ezekiel Elliott Jason Garrett Dallas Cowboys

Regardless of whether the NFL imposes disciplinary action against Ezekiel Elliott, he has a strong supporter in Dallas Cowboys head coach, Jason Garrett.

Jerry Jones threw down the gauntlet Sunday, saying the NFL has nothing on Elliott in terms of domestic violence. On Monday, Garrett once again threw his support behind the running back after making it clear last week he believes in Elliott as a person and player.

The NFL has turned over the results of its investigation into Elliott’s off-field issues. At this time, the league is waiting for Elliott to respond (and the NFLPA), after which it will determine whether to implement any disciplinary action or abstain.

It’s been thought by some that the league might want to send Elliott a message following a first year in the NFL that included multiple incidents that reflected poorly on him, the Cowboys and the league as a whole. Furthermore, one report indicates NFL owners might be asking the league to suspend Elliott.

At this point, nobody really knows what will happen next. One thing we don’t have to wonder about, however, is that the Cowboys are going to be loyal to Elliott. Hopefully that includes more support in terms of helping him get his lifestyle under control. Have fun, go out with your friends, surely. But know you’re a target and plan accordingly.
