Down 21-0 in the third quarter against Michigan, Penn State head coach James Franklin decided to bench Trace McSorley and see what Tommy Stevens could do, instead.

He chose…poorly.

Stevens made something happen with his legs on his first play. But then, on his first passing attempt of the game, he was picked off by senior defensive back Brandon Watson, who went yard.

McSorley has been struggling in this game, to be sure. But he’s been battling and didn’t have an interception in the game.

Franklin has made some bad choices in the past. This certainly was one.
