We just learned something new about Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston on Thursday during a Q&A session. His childhood aspiration was to become a podiatrist.
This is for real.
Winston said that a foot doctor who took care of his father’s and grandmother’s feet was his inspiration. Winston’s grandmother suffered from Type 2 Diabetes, while he described his dad as having “terrible feet,” according to TMZ Sports.
Clearly, Winston’s career eventually took a different path as he began to excel at playing football. But, who is to say once Winston eventually retires from the game of football he won’t go ahead and follow his first dream?
Winston will start for his third season with the Buccaneers after having been drafted No. 1 overall in 2015. He will look to build on the 4,090 passing yards and 28 touchdowns he scored in 2016.
