New Seattle Seahawks All-Pro safety Jamal Adams sure knows how to read a room. Days after being acquired from the New York Jets in a blockbuster trade, the former top-10 pick met with the media in the Pacific Northwest for the first time.

In his first comments as a member of the Seahawks, Adams used his platform to speak up on one of the biggest issues of the day.

Seahawks star Jamal Adams says the “murderers” of Breonna Taylor must be arrested

That’s no small statement right there. It’s been among the biggest things driving the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests around the United States.

Breonna Taylor killing

By now, you know the story of Mrs. Taylor. The 26-year-old emergency medical technician was shot eight times and killed by Louisville Metro Police Department officers back on March 13.

Said officers were serving a no-knock warrant at Taylor’s residence. In plain clothes at the time, they exchanged gunfire with her boyfriend. Taylor died after officers failed to provide or call for aid.

This has obviously been a hot button topic around the United States and in the sports world. Others have spoken up on the matter in a big way. Going from New York to Seattle, Adams is now entering a climate in which widespread protests have been the name of the game.

Pacific Northwest, Portland protests

It’s been played on a never-ending loop in the media. Protesters clashing with federal troops that President Trump has sent into Portland. All of this stems from the murder of George Floyd by a then-Minneapolis police officer back on May 25.

As the protests have continued in both Portland and Seattle, just two name two major cities, federal troops have been called in an attempt to squash the protests.

As for the Seahawks, they have also been active on the protest stage. That includes head coach Pete Carroll.
