A year ago, Jacque Vaughn led the Brooklyn Nets to a first-round playoff exit on the back of a 43-32 record following the dismissal of Steve Nash. Now, after a 21-33 start to the season, the Nets have let Vaughn go, ending a ten-year run with the franchise.

While Vaughn experienced the highs of being a head coach, now he’s experiencing the lowest of lows. Not only is he out of a job, reports of his former players’ distaste for his coaching tactics are beginning to spread.

According to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype, Brooklyn Nets players were starting to complain about the team’s offense, in particular, Jacque Vaughn’s game plans.

“Behind the scenes, there were rumblings about players, including Mikal Bridges, Spencer Dinwiddie when he was on the team and others who weren’t thrilled with Jacque Vaughn’s game plans centering around Ben Simmons, who’s been injured the vast majority of his time with Brooklyn.”

Our guess is that the Nets couldn’t care about who the offense is structured around, as long as they get results in the win column, and the truth is, Vaughn just wasn’t getting enough wins in Brooklyn. Now, Kevin Ollie gets a chance to show why he deserves a shot at the full-time role.
