New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom was easily recognized during the team’s World Series run by his long, brown hair, which he has decided to keep.
The right-hander made a big stink about being sick and tired of his flowing locks during the World Series, saying “It’s driving me nuts. I’ve got to get rid of it,” per Adam Rubin of ESPN.com.
Apparently that sentiment is no longer guiding deGrom, who told Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News he’s changed his mind.

To any ladies out there who didn’t exactly love his unruly look this postseason, he did tell Ackert he plans on cleaning things up a bit up top.
DeGrom said he will get it cleaned up, but not chopped off as he threatened. Also he and Noah Syndergaard think the Mets will b good in '16

Perhaps deGrom realized his long hair is the key to his strength?
In his second year in the big leagues, the long-haired pitcher finished the regular season with a record of 14-8 and a very respectable ERA of 2.54. Until losing his only start of the World Series, deGrom had a brilliant postseason, going 3-0 in the first two series — all on the road — giving up four earned runs in 20 innings of work.
Whatever the young man is doing is clearly working, so why mess with a good thing?
