The devastating injury Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo suffered last week sent shock waves through the NBA community. A true rising star in every sense of the word, Oladipo had his Pacers in position to contend in the Eastern Conference.

The 26-year-old is now facing a major uphill climb to return to the Association next season. If there’s any silver lining here it’s that he’ll be in Charlotte to root on the Eastern Conference All-Stars next month.

Oladipo was named a reserve for the All-Star Game on Thursday. The likes of Bradley Beal, Nikola Vučević, Blake Griffin, Kyle Lowry, Khris Middleton and Ben Simmons join him as reserves.

Obviously, Oladipo won’t suit up. But it’s nice to see him recognized for just how much he’s done in Indiana since being considered an afterthought in the Paul George trade.
