Infernal climb standings at OWL East summer qualifier

The Seoul Infernal moved into a tie for first place with the Dallas Fuel with wins in Friday’s Summer Stage qualifiers in the Overwatch League’s East Region.

The Infernal (3-0) swept the Guangzhou Charge (1-2) while the Fuel (3-0) remained unbeaten but dropped their first map of the competition in a 3-1 defeat of the Shanghai Dragons (1-2). Poker Face (1-2) picked up their first win with a 3-1 decision against the previously unbeaten Dreamers (2-1).

East Region qualifying will run through Aug. 6. All matches will also be best-of-five in a single round-robin format, with all 10 teams moving on to the Summer Stage Knockouts. Matches between the three teams based in South Korea (Dallas Fuel, Seoul Dynasty, Seoul Infernal) will all be offline.

The Infernal defeated the Charge 2-1 on Lijiang Tower, 3-2 on Eichenwalde and 3-1 on Watchpoint: Gibraltar.

The Fuel began with a 2-0 win on Antarctic Peninsula. After a 2-1 loss to the Dragons on Midtown, Dallas answered with 1-0 wins on Dorado and Colosseo.

Poker Face won 2-0 on Oasis and 3-1 on Midtown before the Dreamers got on the board with a 1-0 decision on Route 66. Poker Face secured the match win with a 1-0 triumph on Colosseo.

Qualifying action in the East continues Saturday with four matches:

–Hangzhou Spark vs. Seoul Dynasty
–Shanghai Dragons vs. Poker Face
