It was earlier this week that the Houston Texans shockingly fired vice president Amy Palcic, indicating that she was no longer a “cultural fit” within the organization. That’s apparently a thing.
The Texans received a ton of push back for firing Mrs. Palcic with some linking it to her recent social media activity. Given her status as the 2017 Rozelle Award winner for best PR staff, the outrage seemed real. Was she fired for his political beliefs?
Houston Texans player quietly calls out organization
Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills liked a couple tweets this week bashing the organization in a big way.
It must be noted that Stills was subjected to trade rumors earlier this month. While he was not moved, there’s an obvious disconnect between the veteran receiver and his organization.
As for the Texans, they rightfully received a ton of push back for firing Palcic without any further explanation. We did reach out to the organization, but have yet to hear back.

For the sake of clarity, late Texans owner Bob McNair made news prior to his passing for indicating that letting players take a knee for the national anthem was akin to “inmates running the prison.” He was also a huge coffer for the Republican party, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and outgoing President Donald Trump included.
It would be reckless to suggest that Palcic’s firing was politically motivated. With that said, the culture within this organization is seen as toxic. Firing a widely respected PR figure without as much as an explanation adds to this.
If the Texans thing this is going to go away, there’s no reason to look beyond Stills’ social media activity. The players are not happen. And it has nothing to do with recently-fired former head coach Bill O’Brien. That’s for sure.
