Houston Texans’ late-game win nets bettor $5.5 million parlay

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud (7) celebrates a touchdown run with Houston Texans wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson (19) in the fourth quarter of a Week 10 NFL football game between the Houston Texans and the Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. The Houston Texans won, 30-27.

C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans are on to something. Most didn’t give them much of a chance to head into Cincinnati and defeat the red-hot Bengals on Sunday.

Despite Houston’s standing as a 4-4 team heading in, it was 5.5-point underdogs. About that? The Texans got themselves a hard-fought 30-27 win after kicker Matt Ammendola nailed a 38-yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter.

A bettor in Florida is celebrating like a millionaire after winning $5.5 million on a four-leg NFL parlay at the re-opened Hard Rock sportsbook. The four legs were all part of a same-game parlay.

Imagine putting $500,000 on a random player such as Devin Singletary doing his thing for the Houston Texans. The veteran back ended up going for 150 yards on 30 attempts.

However, it was the aforementioned Stroud who stole the show again for Houston. The rookie No. 2 pick completed 23-of-39 passes for 356 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Houston now sits at 5-4 on the season and is right in the thick of the AFC Playoff race. It’s simply insane given that the Texans had won seven games in the two seasons heading into the 2023 campaign.

As for this unnamed bettor, good on you. That took some major guts.
