Days after Team Europe won the Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, Italy, a huge fire on Thursday burned down the hospitality structure located adjacent to the first tee.
No injuries were reported.

Ryder Cup Europe wrote in a statement, “Local fire crews were called to the scene at (5:07 p.m.) local time and quickly brought the blaze under control. There was no damage to the golf course or any other structure. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.”
The blaze did not spread beyond the three-story structure. Sky News reported that local authorities weighed whether to evacuate nearby homes but determined that step wouldn’t be necessary.
The structure that burned was built specifically for last week’s Ryder Cup, which Europe won 16 1/2-11 1/2 against the United States.
The competition was held in Italy for the first time. The next Ryder Cup is scheduled for 2025 at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y.
