Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball is making progress rehabilitating the ankle injury he sustained on Nov. 26 in a game against the Orlando Magic and has begun individual activities, the team said Friday.
He will be reevaluated in one week, the Magic announced.
Post-injury, an MRI confirmed a right ankle sprain.
Ball, 22, is averaging a career-high 24.7 points a game along with 5.5 rebounds and 8.2 assists in 15 games (all starts).
In four seasons with the Hornets, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 draft has averaged 19.9 points, 7.4 assists and 6.3 rebounds in 177 games (157 starts).
He appeared in just 36 games last season because of a broken right ankle. He was limited to 51 games as a rookie due to injuries.
