The Atlanta Hawks announced Tuesday that center Clint Capela and forward Danilo Gallinari entered the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
The duo join star guard Trae Young in the protocol. Young was placed on the list Sunday.
Capela, 27, is averaging 11.5 points and 12.8 rebounds in 29 games, all starts, this season. Gallinari, 33, is averaging 9.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 26 games off the bench.
Capela has career averages of 12.6 points and 10.6 boards in 426 games (366 starts) over eight seasons with the Houston Rockets and Atlanta. Gallinari is averaging 15.7 points and 4.8 rebounds in 688 games (545 starts) in 13 seasons with the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Hawks.
Both players are in their second seasons with Atlanta, which host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
The Hawks will also be without forwards Solomon Hill (hamstring) and De’Andre Hunter (wrist) against the Magic.
Atlanta also will sign guard Lance Stephenson and forward Malcolm Hill under the NBA’s 10-day roster hardship exemptions, according to multiple reports.
The Hawks’ scheduled Sunday contest against Cleveland was postponed due to an outbreak within the Cavaliers.
