Hall of Famer Chris Doleman to have brain surgery

During his heyday, Chris Doleman was one of the most dominant pass rushers in the NFL. An eight-time Pro Bowler, Doleman recorded double-digit sacks eight times in his career. He led the league in quarterback takedowns with 21 back in 1989.

Doleman battled some of the greatest offensive linemen to ever play the game during his 15-year NFL career which came to a culmination in 1999 and resulted in a Hall of Fame nod.

Now, he’ll be battling the biggest foe of his life. According to Pro Football Talk, Doleman will soon undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor.

“Chris Doleman, who starred in the ’80s and ’90s as a pass rusher with the Vikings, will undergo surgery on Wednesday to remove a brain tumor,” Mike Florio noted.

There’s no further information as it relates to the extent of the tumor or whether it is cancerous. We send our best wishes to Doleman and his wife, Toni, during these most difficult of times.
