Hailie Deegan now has a crew chief in advance of her maiden full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series season at AM Racing.

Driving the No. 15 with support from Ford Performance, Deegan will be paired with veteran crew chief Joe Williams, who has been with AM Racing for a full year and built the team’s Xfinity Series program after it expanded from Trucks.

Williams was paired with Brett Moffitt last season, where they claimed one top-five and nine top-10 finishes together.

Deegan previously worked with Williams when she made her Xfinity Series debut in a one-off at SS GreenLight Racing in the fall race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where she qualified 20th and finished 13th.

That’s a realistic benchmark for the team to pursue in 2024 — a consistent contender for top-15s. In 69 Truck Series starts, of which 68 came with ThorSport Racing, Deegan posted just five top-10s and an average finish of 19.3.

Williams won with Cole Custer at SS GreenLight at Auto Club Speedway in 2022 but that was with a car prepared by Stewart Haas Racing. In all, Williams has one win, eight top-5s and 30 top-10s atop the pit box over 131 Xfinity Series starts.
