Golf journalist Tim Rosaforte dies at 66

Longtime golf journalist Tim Rosaforte died Tuesday due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 66.

“The PGA Tour family lost a friend today in Tim Rosaforte, one of the great golf journalists of his generation,” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said in a statement. “Tim was an amazing storyteller and spent much of his energy on showcasing what sets golf apart from other sports — the people and the personalities.”

PGA of America awarded Rosaforte with an honorary membership in 2020, the 12th person to receive the honor and the first journalist.

Rosaforte retired in 2019 after more than 40 years covering the sport on multiple platforms, including 17 Ryder Cups and more than 125 majors. He was a regular on the Golf Channel beginning in 2007.
