Golden Tate signs with Giants on reported four-year, $37.5 million contract

The New York Giants are taking a lot of flack for trading Odell Beckham Jr. But while he’s not comparable to the young star, Golden Tate will at least help lessen the blow of losing OBJ.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Big Blue and Tate have agreed on a deal worth $37.5 million over four years.

Though he’s not as productive as he was in his heyday, Tate is still one of the best in the NFL at gaining yards after the catch. Playing for the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles last year, he caught 74 passes for 795 yards and four touchdowns.

Over the course of his nine-year career, the 30-year-old receiver has hauled in 611 passes for 7,124 yards and 38 touchdowns.
