Golden State Warriors center Kevon Looney will miss at least the next two weeks as he recovers from a sprained left ankle.
Looney, who turns 25 on Saturday, got hurt in Tuesday night’s loss to the Boston Celtics. An MRI the following day revealed the extent of the damage.
“This was a fluke,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr, per ESPN. “He caught his foot on the floor and rolled the ankle. Just the way it goes. I feel bad for him because he’s worked so hard to get back to this space and he’s really been playing well for us, so it’s a big blow.”

Looney, who had four points, three assists and three rebounds in 13 minutes against the Celtics, is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks.
For the season, Looney is averaging 3.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in 21 games (five starts).
