The New York Giants were already hurting for depth at wide receiver heading into Week 2 and it suffered another blow on Friday when the team ruled out Sterling Shepard for Sunday’s game with a concussion.

Shepard experienced concussion symptoms following the team’s loss in Week 1 to the Dallas Cowboys. He was unable to practice this week and was promptly ruled out days before the Giants face the Buffalo Bills.

New York is already without wide receiver Golden Tate, who is serving a four-game suspension.

In the absence of the team’s top two receivers, tight end Evan Engram will likely remain a focal point of the team’s passing attack. He hauled in 11 receptionss for 116 receiving yards and one touchdown in Week 1.
