New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is participating in individual drills at Thursday’s practice.

Head coach Brian Daboll said the team will see how Barkley’s right ankle holds up before taking the next step.

Thursday was New York’s first practice ahead of Monday night’s home game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Barkley, 26, suffered an ankle sprain in Week 2 toward the end of the Giants’ victory at Arizona.

Initial reports said he was expected to miss three weeks, but Daboll has called Barkley “a quick healer.”

Barkley missed time with ankle injuries in 2019 and 2021. His 2020 season ended with a torn ACL in Week 2.

Through two games, Barkley leads the Giants (1-2) with 155 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.
