New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has not been cleared for contact because of a neck injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s home game against the Washington Commanders.

Jones was limited at practice for the third consecutive day on Friday, when coach Brian Daboll said there’s a chance the QB could be cleared in time.

“We’ll see,” Daboll said. “We’re talking to medical people and just take it day by day here.”

Jones was injured during a 31-16 loss at the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 8, then missed last Sunday’s 14-9 road loss to the Buffalo Bills. Veteran Tyrod Taylor started in his place and was 24-for-36 passing for 200 yards.

Daboll said Jones has enough experience that even if he doesn’t practice all week with the team, he could still be ready to play.

“He’s played a lot of football for us,” Daboll said. “He’s been in the system for a while. So, again, we’ll take that one, get all the information and then make the right decision for him and for us.”

The Giants (1-5) ruled out center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder) and offensive tackles Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and Matt Peart (shoulder) for the game against the Commanders (3-3). None of the three practiced this week.

Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (neck) has been limited all week and is listed as questionable, as is offensive tackle Evan Neal (ankle), who got in one limited session on Thursday but didn’t practice Friday.

Running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and kicker Graham Gano (left knee) have been limited at practice this week but carry no injury designations.
