Giants concerned about Josh Rosen’s personality, unlikely to trade for QB

The New York Giants have suddenly been linked to quarterbacks a whole lot over the past several days.

A recent reports suggests that they are eyeing either Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins or Duke’s Daniel Jones with the sixth pick in next week’s NFL Draft.

The Giants have also been linked to Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen should that team select Kyler Murray No. 1 overall.

In talking about this possibility, Giants insider Ralph Vacchiano over at SNY suggests that it’s highly unlikely to happen. There’s a number of reasons for this.

First off, New York’s brass is concerned over Rosen’s personality and whether it would be a fit in the Big Apple.

“The Giants’ biggest concern about him, according to a team source, was his personality and how it would fit in New York. Though Rosen seemed to be well-liked by teammates, he has a tendency to come off as arrogant publicly,” the insider noted.

The more concrete issue is that New York doesn’t want to give up either of its two first-round picks or its second-round selection to land Rosen. If that’s the case, Arizona will likely get a better trade offer somewhere else.

It’s interesting in that Vacchiano notes that the Giants didn’t have Rosen as their No. 1-ranked quarterback last year, but were said to be high on the UCLA product.

It seems that a second-round pick would be a steal for New York, especially given that both Haskins and Jones are more unknown commodities.

Either way, these Giants remain true wild cards heading into the start of the 2019 NFL Draft next week.
