Giants are odds-on favorites to land Bryce Harper

The San Francisco Giants have just recently found themselves as a late entry in the Bryce Harper sweepstakes.

It was noted earlier in February that the Giants and Harper met in the former MVP’s home town of Las Vegas — a report that was backed up by the Giants’ brass.

Now, with spring training set to get going here soon, it looks like the Giants are in fact favored to land Harper.

Not only is BetOnline favoring Harper to the Giants at +100, its putting said odds at 50 percent.

San Francisco is highly unlikely to offer the 10-year, $300 million deal Harper is seeking. Though, the team could very well offer him a higher average annual salary on a short-term deal.

Among the teams that have been bandied about as a potential landing spot for Harper, the Philadelphia Phillies also make a ton of sense after their off-season additions — most recently J.T. Realmuto.
