The Milwaukee Bucks will be without star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo for Wednesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a quad injury.

The team announced that Antetokounmpo will be sidelined with right quad tendon soreness, it will be the first game he has missed this season.

While specifics on the injury haven’t been provided, Antetokounmpo is likely day-to-day as the team plays it cautious with its star player.

The 25-year-old is averaging 30.9 points, 13.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game this season. Now without Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee will need its secondary players to step up in order to extend its current winning streak to 16 games.

The Bucks have an off day on Thursday, so the All-Star forward will have additional time to rest before Friday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
