Giannis Antetokounmpo makes his pitch to Anthony Davis

Trade rumors surrounding New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis have picked up steam this week. We’re not 100 percent sure what led to this, but the media certainly has played a role.

Set to become a free agent following the 2019-20 season, Davis has most-recently been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. In fact, Lakers star LeBron James told Davis he’d love to play with him.

We can now add Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo to the growing list of top-end players to make a public pitch to Davis.

“Come to the Bucks, man,” Antetokounmpo said,” Giannis said after Milwaukee’s win over New Orleans Wednesday night,” via NBA.com. “Come to the Bucks.”

That would probably be the most-dominating duo in the NBA east of Oakland. Both are freaks of nature and are just now hitting their prime. Milwaukee also seemingly has the young assets to entice New Orleans. Though, that’s not at the level of both the Lakers and Celtics.

The larger issue here is market size. One of the reasons Davis is being rumored to be on his way out of New Orleans is its smallish NBA market. Milwaukee is no better in that regard.

One can dream, right?
