Georgia Bulldogs sophomore running back James Cook was arrested Friday night for using an invalid driver’s license and having an open container.
Cook, the younger brother of Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, was booked into Athens-Clarke County Jail Friday night. He was then released early Saturday morning after posting bond per official police records (h/t Bulldogs Maven).
Both of the charges Cook is facing are misdemeanors. It’s unclear if this arrest will have any impact on his availability for the Sugar Bowl against Baylor.
Cook has been utilized sparingly for most of the season as a reserve for the Bulldogs. However, in recent weeks he was getting a bit more playing time due to the injury to D’Andre Swift. On the season, Cook has tallied 308 yards and two touchdowns from scrimmage.
