Generals grind out 27-17 win over Breakers

The New Jersey Generals rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns in running away with a 27-17 victory over the New Orleans Breakers on Saturday at Birmingham, Ala.

Darius Victor rushed for 95 yards and a score while quarterback De’Andre Johnson ran for 39 yards and two TDs to pace the Generals, who improved to 4-1. The Generals averaged 4.5 yards per carry as a team.

Johnson also passed for 213 yards with an interception.

Breakers quarterback Kyle Sloter passed for 155 yards with two TDs and two interceptions.

Johnson scored on 4th-and-goal in the first quarter to put the Generals up 14-3. The Breakers opened the scoring on a 42-yard field goal by Taylor Bertolet.

The Breakers fall to 3-2 on the season.
