Gary Woodland, 2 others withdraw from Honda Classic

Gary Woodland, Scott Piercy and Doc Redman have withdrawn from the upcoming Honda Classic after testing positive for COVID-19, the PGA Tour announced on Monday.

“The players will have the PGA Tour’s full support throughout their self-isolation period under CDC guidelines,” the PGA Tour wrote in its release.

Woodland, Piercy and Redman will be replaced in the field by Sebastian Cappelen, D.J. Trahan and Kiradech Aphibarnrat, respectively, at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Woodland, who won the U.S. Open in 2019, missed the cut at The Players Championship this past weekend. The 36-year-old has four wins on the PGA Tour.

The 42-year-old Piercy also is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour. He finished tied for 69th at The Players Championship.

Redman, 23, has yet to win on the PGA Tour. He missed the cut at The Players Championship.
