Full details of Kawhi Leonard, Raptors trade released

The NBA world survived a Woj Bomb on Wednesday morning, as the ESPN reporter uncorked news of Kawhi Leonard being traded to the Toronto Raptors.

Now, Adrian Wojnarowski has shared the full details of the trade. In addition to the initial reporting of a Kawhi/DeMar DeRozan swap, the Spurs are sending Danny Green to Toronto in exchange for Jakob Poeltl and a first-round pick.

The 2019 pick is protected for slots 1-20, and if not conveyed next season would become two second-round choices.

San Antonio used this opportunity to unload Green’s expiring contract and added a promising young big at a position of need. Poeltl is under team control through 2019-20 and will then be a restricted free agent.

The Raptors deserve a bit of praise for making a big swing, but it’s possible they lose Leonard, Green and their first-round pick after this season.
