NBA free agent Bryn Forbes was arrested early Friday morning in San Antonio on suspicion of assault with body injury, according to Bexar County jail records.

Forbes is charged with a misdemeanor in the incident that involved a woman he is dating. He was arrested shortly after 5 a.m.

According to a police report, Forbes and the woman were arguing while out and the disagreement turned physical once they returned home with Forbes striking the woman several times. The fire department and emergency medical services responded to help the injured woman.

Forbes, 29, was released by the Minnesota Timberwolves last Thursday.

Forbes, a seven-year veteran, has had two stints with the San Antonio Spurs. The shooting guard spent his four seasons in San Antonio (2016-20) and also played the first half of the 2021-22 campaign with the Spurs before being traded to the Denver Nuggets.

Forbes also has played for the Milwaukee Bucks (2020-21). He played in 25 games for Minnesota off the bench this season and averaged 3.6 points and shot just 36.1 percent from the field.

He has a career scoring average of 8.8 points and has shot 41 percent from 3-point range in 431 career games (167 starts).

Forbes played two seasons of college basketball at both Cleveland State and Michigan State. He was not selected in the 2016 NBA Draft.
