Legendary placekicker Adam Vinatieri had a brutal afternoon on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, and afterward the Indianapolis Colts legend hinted at retirement.
On Monday, head coach Frank Reich made it clear that Vinatieri is going nowhere and that the Colts are not concerned about his early-season struggles.
Reich also said that he had a private conversation with Vinatieri on Monday and that the 46-year-old kicker would speak to the media on Tuesday.
Vinatieri, who is one of the most accomplished kickers in the history of the NFL, has hit on just 33.3% (1-of-3) of his field-goal attempts this year and is just 40% (2-of-5) on extra points.
