New Orleans Saints’ Foster Moreau announces full remission from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

This offseason has been full of action. For New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau, it’s also been one filled with surprises.

Back in March, during a routine free agency visit as Moreau was trying to decide which team he wanted to sign with after four seasons with the Raiders, doctors noticed a growing concern.

The New Orleans medical team uncovered and diagnosed Moreau with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer. It all occurred when Dr. John Amoss noticed an enlarged lymph node on Moreau’s left collarbone.

Days later, Moreau revealed his intent to step away from the game of football, choosing to focus on his health and beating cancer instead.

Then, after two grueling months, Moreau announced he had completed his cancer treatment and then signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Saints. His deal even included up to $8 million in guarantees.

Today, Moreau is celebrating again after sharing via social media that he is now in full remission from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Here is the tweet Moreau shared with the world.

While Moreau may not be one of the best-known players in the NFL today, it’s hard not to root for him overcoming his latest battle. Amazingly, now the New Orleans native gets to play for the team he grew up favoring with the Saints. We can only imagine the wild fanfare he’ll experience once Moreau makes his debut with the team in Week 1.
