Former Vikings LB: ‘The Saints fan base can be obnoxious’

Potentially the best game of the NFL Divisional Playoffs, the New Orleans Saints will travel to Minnesota on Sunday to take on the Vikings. Both teams seem to have legitimate Super Bowl caliber rosters and are coming off strong regular seasons.

Playing their first playoff game at the new U.S. Bank Stadium, the hope for Minnesota is that its fans will make this a major home-field advantage — much like what we’ve seen from the Saints at the Superdome.

In talking about that dynamic, former Vikings linebacker Ben Leber decided to throw some serious shade in the direction of Saints’ fans.

Anyone who doesn’t root for a specific team will find that team’s fan base “obnoxious.” It’s part of what makes sports so darn great.

Saints fans travel well. That’s known to those around the NFL world. And at home, they give their team one of the best home-field advantages in the game. Playing in an indoor environment on Sunday, the Vikings have to hope their fans provide that very same atmosphere while annoying those rooting for the Saints in the process.
