Just a day after another former Pro Bowl offensive tackle called it quits, nine-year NFL veteran Ryan Clady has announced his retirement from the league. Clady, 30, made it official with a long post on social media Tuesday.

“Despite having several teams who are currently interested in signing me, I have made the very difficult decision to retire from my NFL playing career,” Clady said. “I have deliberated on this decision thoroughly until now because I wanted to see if the beginning of NFL training camps would inspire the passion that I need to perform at the standards that I established for myself during my 9-year NFL career.”

Clady, a first-round pick of the Denver Broncos back in 2008, started 106 of the 107 games he appeared in during his NFL career. He earned trips to the Pro Bowl four times and is a one-time All Pro.

Unfortunately for the former Boise State standout, injuries caught up with him throughout the latter part of his career. He missed the entire 2015 season to injury and only played in nine games for the New York Jets last year after the Broncos traded him back east.
