Former Clemson QB Kelly Bryant transfers to Missouri

Kelly Bryant and the Clemson Tigers dominated the ACC Championship Game on championship weekend

The starter for the Clemson Tigers to open this season, Kelly Bryant was passed over on the depth chart by stud freshman Trevor Lawrence. Almost immediately, Bryant announced that he was going to transfer from the program.

Given that Bryant led Clemson to a 12-2 record and a spot in the College Football Playoff as a starter last season, it was not a surprise that he decided to move on from the Tigers.

Sure he’s not the elite talent that we’ve seen from Lawrence this season, but Bryant has been a hot commodity since leaving the Clemson program.

We now have a decision. Bryant took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that he has decided to transfter to the SEC and suit up for Missouri.

Of the teams that Bryant was considering, Missouri gives him the best opportunity to start as a grad transfer next season.

Starting quarterback Drew Lock is a senior and will be heading to the NFL next year. Outside of that, Missouri doesn’t have a whole lot at quarterback under head coach Barry Odom.

Bryant finishes his career at Clemson having put up north of 4,400 total yards with 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
