When the Cincinnati Bengals selected Jake Fisher in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, they fully expected the offensive tackle to be a franchise book end for years to come.

After four seasons and just 12 starts in Cincinnati, the 25-year-old Fisher is now moving on to the Buffalo Bills.

In and of itself, that wouldn’t be a huge story. Rather, Fisher is signing a one-year deal with Buffalo to play tight end.

Previously standing at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds, Fisher has worked himself into shape over the past couple months. He’s aiming to make this a fluid transition.

It’s something we rarely see around the NFL. An offensive lineman moving to a skill position.

We have seen offensive linemen move to the defensive line and vice versa. Logan Thomas also made the transition from quarterback to blocking tight end.

Even then, this promises to be a rather interesting story to follow in Western New York throughout the offseason and training camp. We wish Fisher the best.
