Fordham is expected to hire Villanova assistant Kyle Neptune as its next head coach, multiple outlets reported Monday.

Neptune beat out Bryant head coach Jared Grasso for the position, per the report.

An official announcement is expected this week.

In addition to Villanova, Neptune has also been an assistant coach at Niagara and Hofstra. He is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Neptune would replace Jeff Neubauer, fired by the Rams in January. Neubauer had a 61-104 record in five-plus seasons at Fordham. The Rams were over .500 just once in Neubauer’s tenure — 17-14 in his first season in 2015-16.

Associate head coach Michael DePaoli finished the season in an interim role. The Rams finished 2-12, with a 2-11 record in Atlantic 10 play.
