We call it Florida in February now but it’s still Florida Speedweeks if you know where to look.
What was historically Daytona Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway has effectively been consolidated into one single extended race weekend leading up to the Great American Race. This used to be a two-week series of racing events that all led to the Daytona 500.
Now, Daytona 500 qualifying opens the week without a single practice session on Wednesday, February 14 with the twin qualifying races taking place on Thursday February 15. The Truck Series races on Friday night with ARCA and the Xfinity Series on Saturday and the biggest race of the Cup Series season Sunday, February 18.

2 p.m. – Random draw for Xfinity Series qualifying lineup
4 p.m. – Random draw for Cup Series qualifying lineup
Wednesday, February 14
8 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Daytona 500 Media Day
8:15 p.m. – NASCAR Cup Series single-car qualifying (one lap, two rounds)
Thursday, February 15
4:05 – 4:55 p.m. – ARCA Menards Series practice
5:05 – 5:55 p.m. – NASCAR Truck Series practice
7 p.m. – NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying Race #1 (60 laps)
8:45 p.m. – NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying Race #2 (60 laps)
Friday, February 16
1:30 p.m. – ARCA Menards Series qualifying
3 p.m. – NASCAR Truck Series qualifying

Florida Speedweeks is so much more than NASCAR as it also features Late Models, Sprint Cars and more, across the Sunshine State. Florida welcomes the best across the entire racing landscape each February and 2024 is no exception.
NASCAR drivers even compete in each of these events. For example, Ryan Preece frequently races a Tour-Type Modified at New Smyrna when he’s not required to be in his Cup Series car. Justin Haley will be in the DIRTcar Modified division at Volusia. The Dillon Brothers have occasionally raced Late Models at Volusia each year.
While not racing, you can expect to see the likes of Ricky Stenhouse, Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell roaming the grounds across the dirt tracks as well.

East Bay Winter Nationals
It’s the beginning of the end for Clay by the Bay as Winter Nationals 2024 marks the final season for the legendary third mile clay oval. Its portion of speedweeks is headlined by the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series and High Limit Sprint Car Series.

New Smyrna World Series
The World Series of Asphalt continues to grow year in and year out.
The seven races in nine nights at New Smyrna Speedway features Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, Tour Type Modifieds and a variety of true grassroots pavement divisions.
The week features the season opener for the ASA national tour, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and two marquee Tour Type Modified races all leading to a 100 lap Super Late Model championship race on the Saturday prior to the Daytona 500.
