The Chicago Fire signed goalkeeper Chris Brady to a five-year contract through the 2026 season.

The deal announced Monday for the 18-year-old Homegrown player includes a club option for 2027.

“Chris is a highly talented young goalkeeper, and this new contract is a testament to our belief in him and his abilities as a player,” sporting director Georg Heitz said in a news release. “We’ve seen tremendous growth from Chris over the last two years … and we believe that he has a very bright future with the Fire.”

Brady, of Naperville, Ill., originally signed in March 2020. On loan with USL League One club Forward Madison, he earned the league’s Young Player of the Year award in 2020.

This season, Brady has made four starts with Chicago Fire FC II in MLS Next Pro.

“I’m super excited and grateful for this new opportunity,” Brady said. “I love this Club and always have since I was a kid. It’s an amazing feeling to have a chance to make my family, my team, our supporters and my city proud. I cannot express how grateful I am to the people who’ve helped and supported me all throughout my journey so far.”
