Matt Patricia roasted after Lions hit with ridiculous penalty that allows Packers to score TD

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions got exceptionally fortunate in the second quarter when the Packers had to settle for a field goal. Then, they shot themselves in the foot with a brutal penalty on fourth down that gave the Packers a first down, and which led to a touchdown.

Incredibly, both Aaron Jones and Jimmy Graham dropped sure touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers on this drive. After getting those two lucky breaks, the Lions then had 12 men on the field for the Packers’ field-goal attempt.

Then, a few plays later, Jamaal Williams scampered into the end zone for a huge touchdown for the Packers.

Social media users railed against Lions head coach Matt Patricia for such a brutal lapses of discipline at such a critical moment in the game.
