The AFC wild-card game between the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers is being played as scheduled Monday night, but not without some stuff sledding for fans attending the game at snowy Highmark Stadium.

Volunteers worked overnight and into Monday morning to clear mountains of snow left by a severe lake-effect storm that forced postponement of the game until 4:30 p.m. ET Monday.

While there were reports that the game could be postponed a second time due to the volume of snow, the workers did a great job on the field, which looks ready for football.

The stands, however, were a different story, with bleachers all around the Orchard Park, N.Y., stadium still immersed in snow.

Fans making their way to their seats found them covered in snow. In many cases, they had to wade through feet of snow piled up in their rows.

Then once they found their seat, fans were left with little choice but to dig it out.

Without many places to put the snow once it was removed from a seat, the snow often ended up on the seats reserved for a few other unfortunate souls.

As for the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers, it was business as usual, with pregame warmups taking place without a hitch in the schedule.

The game-time forecast for the Buffalo Bills-Pittsburgh Steelers matchup in Orchard Park, N.Y., is 16 degrees with the wind chill making it feel like 3 degrees and a less-than-10 percent chance of any further precipitation.

According to The Weather Channel, an additional five inches of snow fell on Highmark Stadium over the past 24 hours, adding to a total accumulation of around three feet from the dangerous storm that prompted New York Governor Kathy Hochul to postpone the game, originally scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
