Fans boo Lions for awful offensive effort against Jets

Detroit Lions fans are not happy with their team right now. During the first quarter of Monday night’s game against the New York Jets, Matthew Stafford and Co. have been a miserable wreck, and the fans are letting the offense know about it.

Multiple times in the first half, fans have booed the offense off the field after failed conversions and questionable play calling.

The boos intensified after Jim Bob Cooter called an ineffective screen pass on third-and-long, which led to a missed field goal by Matt Prater.

Through roughly a quarter-and-a-half of play, Detroit’s offense has generated a total of 46 yards, three first downs and zero points in the 10-7 game — the points were generated on a pick-six of Sam Darnold on his first career pass.

Lions fans have been having issues with rookie head coach Matt Patricia since early in the preseason. This does not appear to be something that’s going to go away any time soon, either.
