Vontae Davis, who played in the NFL for three teams from 2009 to 2018, was arrested in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence after his car allegedly rear-ended a pickup truck.

Davis’ arrest came early Saturday on the Florida Turnpike in Hollywood, Fla., with the news becoming public Sunday.

Davis, 34, reportedly smelled of alcohol, displaying slurred speech and bloodshot eyes while speaking with the police, the Florida Highway Patrol’s incident report said.

Davis allegedly hit the end of a parked pickup truck on the side of a highway with a flat tire. The truck hit the driver, who was waiting for assistance outside, and he needed to be hospitalized with multiple injuries.

Davis declined a sobriety test.

A cornerback for the Miami Dolphins (2009-11), Indianapolis Colts (2012-17) and Buffalo Bills (2018), Davis was a two-time Pro Bowler but is best remembered for retiring at halftime of the Bills’ Week 2 game in 2018, leaving the stadium after playing in the first half.

Davis recorded 22 interceptions in 121 career games. His brother is former Pro Bowl tight end Vernon Davis.
