Former NBA player Bryn Forbes is facing a family violence charge after being arrested in San Antonio.

Forbes, 30, was jailed Tuesday on a third-degree felony charge of assaulting a family member by choking or strangulation, according to Bexar County arrest records. He was jailed on a $7,500 bond.

Forbes played parts of seven seasons in the NBA with four teams, including the San Antonio Spurs. He last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2022-23.

According to San Antonio police, officers responded to a call at 2:17 a.m. on Monday saying that Forbes had allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old woman described as “an ex-significant other.” Forbes reportedly fled the scene before being taken into custody late Tuesday morning.

The incident comes one year after Forbes was arrested in San Antonio on suspicion of assault with bodily injury.

Forbes, a guard, averaged 8.8 points in 431 games (167 starts) with the Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets and Timberwolves. He won an NBA championship with Milwaukee in 2021.
