A day after being released by the Cleveland Browns, wide receiver Antonio Callaway is now headed for a 10-game suspension after violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Callaway lost the appeal of his suspension and now must serve his 10-game suspension.

The suspension proved to be one of the final straws that ended the talented receiver’s tenure in Cleveland. The team benched him in Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills after he arrived late to the stadium for the game. He also was reportedly late to several team meetings this season.

Callaway, a fourth-round pick in 2018, appeared in only four games this season with eight receptions for 89 receiving yards. He finished his rookie season with 43 receptions, 586 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

While Callaway often showed glimpses of starting-caliber NFL talent, off-the-field issues and his suspension likely put his long-term NFL future in doubt.
