As the Washington Nationals prepared to take on the Atlanta Braves Tuesday night, pitcher Erick Fedde found himself in an awkward position with a praying mantis on his arm.
At first, Fedde was kind of excited about it, quietly showing it to his teammates ahead of the national anthem.
Then the large insect began to crawl up his arm, onto his shoulders and neck area, and that’s when Fedde had to do his best not to freak the heck out.
When is a baseball player like a praying mantis?

Really, Fedde deserves a ton of credit for keeping his cool here. A lesser man might have run off the field screaming.
