ENCE, G2 remain undefeated at IEM Sydney

G2 Esports and ENCE advanced to the upper bracket final on Tuesday as action continued on the second day of Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023.

ENCE dropped Fnatic to the lower bracket semifinal with their 2-1 win. Fnatic got off to an early 1-0 lead in the Counter-Strike 2 match, winning 13-10 on Overpass. ENCE came back with a pair of victories on Anubis and Vertigo, however, by 13-10 scores.

In their contest against Complexity, G2 moved on with a sweep, posting 13-7 triumphs on both Anubis and Ancient.

ENCE and G2 will meet Wednesday in the Group B upper bracket final. The same day, Complexity will face Cloud9 and Fnatic will meet Monte, with the winners advancing to the lower bracket final.

Cloud9 moved into the lower bracket semifinal on Tuesday by beating Lynn Vision Gaming 13-11 on Anubis and 13-8 on Ancient. Monte eliminated Grayhound Gaming with a 13-5 win on Nuke and a 13-11 win on Anubis.

Sixteen teams are competing for a $250,000 prize pool in the first major LAN event for Counter-Strike 2, and the first IEM event in Australia since 2019.

The tournament began with two eight-team groups competing in a double-elimination format, with all opening matches best-of-one and the subsequent matches best-of-three.
