Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith’s NASCAR team will race full-time on the Xfinity Series this season, starting at Daytona later this month.

Smith and co-owner Jesse Iwuji announced Monday that the No. 34 Chevrolet of Jesse Iwuji Motorsports plans to compete in all 33 races on the calendar, with Iwuji behind the wheel.

“Jesse Iwuji Motorsports is thrilled to have Chevy play a vital role in our mission to drive diversity, equity and inclusion in racing and join in the development of Jesse as he chases his dream,” Smith said.

Iwuji, 34, has made 15 starts in NASCAR’s truck series (2018-21) and five starts in the Xfinity circuit (2020-21).

Smith, 52, is the NFL’s all-time leading rusher. He won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Jesse Iwuji Motorsports will debut at Daytona on Feb. 19 for the Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner 300.
