Emmanuel Sanders Claims the Patriots Should be Stripped of Their Super Bowl Title

Despite the “Deflategate” scandal, many people have come out in support of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

This is not the case with Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who spoke to a group of kids at a Denver area football camp. When asked by one of the kids at the camp if he was upset about the scandal, Sanders replied with this (via NBC 9News):

“Yeah, yeah, I’m kind of mad. I don’t think that they (New England) should be the Super Bowl champion this year.”

Sanders, who set career highs in his first season in Denver, said that players who work hard versus those who cheat should be rewarded.

“You aren’t supposed to cheat,” Sanders said. “Cheating is not good, especially when you’ve got guys who are working their butts off for 365 days out of the year and one person cheats—whether it helps them win the Super Bowl or not, they still cheated and shouldn’t be a champion.”

Even though the Wells Report did not directly implicate the Patriots as a whole with any wrongdoing, the NFL punished the team by fining it $1 million. New England also lost two draft picks, including its 2016 first-rounder. Additionally, Brady was handed down a four-game suspension for his possible knowledge of team locker room personnel deflating the footballs.
