Eagles WR Torrey Smith earns degree from Miami

After having already pocketed nearly $20 million during his six-year NFL career, wide receiver Torrey Smith signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles back in March.

To most people on earth, that’s enough money to live financially secure for multiple lifetimes. But for Smith, this security extends far beyond the football field. A family man that does so much within the community, Smith has always thought about life after football.

It’s in this that Smith posted a photo on Twitter showing himself in a cap and gown. Smith just graduated from the University of Miami with an MBA.

These are great stories to pay attention to. Despite being extremely successful in his professional life and not having any financial hurdles to overcome, Smith decided to go back to school and get his degree. Too often, the NFL offseason is filled with police blotters and rumors of off-field issues. When stories like this arise, we should definitely pay attention.

Congratulations to the former NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee.
